The United States Embassy Office of the FDA unveiled

Beijing, Guangming Xiong Wang Wei-kai News reporter reports November 19, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) unveiled China office in Beijing. Secretary for the State Food and Drug Administration Shao Mingli, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Michael O. Leavitt, U.S. Secretary Eschenbach FDA and the U.S. Ambassador to China Clark T. Randt attended the opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting.
Shao Mingli in his speech said that with the development of economic globalization, drug safety has gone beyond the national borders. Drug safety and protect public life and health are placed in front of the historical mission of Governments, and only cooperation is the only option. U.S. FDA to establish offices in China, will become the Sino-US exchange platform between the regulatory authorities, the Food and Drug Administration for bilateral cooperation in the field to make a positive contribution.
It is reported that the U.S. FDA will also set up offices in Guangzhou and Shanghai. U.S. Office staff responsible for inspecting food and drug-related export production facilities, provide guidance to U.S. quality standards and to help the host country-related testing capacity-building. Next month, the U.S. FDA will be in India, to open an office in Latin America. At present, China's US-based agencies are in the pipeline.
